The service
DSM Radar organizes scanner-derived information, automated transcripts, machine-assisted summaries, optional live audio, and selected independently reported context for the Greater Des Moines area. The service is provided as-is and may be incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or wrong.
Accuracy and attribution
A radio transmission is a report heard over the air, not proof that an event occurred exactly as described. Automated speech recognition can mishear names, locations, codes, and details. Published reporting can also change. Read the labels and source links, and consult the responsible agency for authoritative information.
Acceptable use
You may use the public site for lawful personal awareness and reporting. You may not use it to harass, stalk, intimidate, identify vulnerable people, interfere with emergency services, evade law enforcement, overload or scrape the service in a way that harms operation, bypass access controls, or violate applicable law.
Free access and sponsorship
Public access is currently free. DSM Radar may display clearly labeled local sponsorships or advertisements. Placements do not receive editorial control, and the service does not currently use behavioral targeting or sell personal information for advertising. No public paid subscription is offered at this time.
Privacy
Use of the service is subject to the privacy policy, which explains first-party audience measurement, operational logging, optional third parties, retention, and privacy controls.
Availability and changes
The operator may change, pause, restrict, or discontinue any part of the service to preserve safety, legality, cost, or reliability. Features and source coverage can change without notice. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by the updated date on this page.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on DSM Radar, including scanner-derived text, automated summaries, audio, external links, or third-party services.
Questions and concerns
For a correction, privacy request, sponsorship inquiry, or question about these terms, contact the operator privately.
